Get to know Foley alumnus Thomas “T.R.” Lee!
Where were you born and what year did you graduate from Foley High School?
Montgomery, AL & I graduated in 2003.
Did you participate in any extracurricular activities? Were you any good?!
I played basketball (JV & Varsity), Soccer (JV & Varsity), Football (Jr. Year), and I participated in ROTC for 4 years
Did you go to college, business, or technical school after graduation?
I joined the Air Force after high school. I’ve been in 11 years now, and its been one heck of a time. I’ve been around the world and deployed a few times.
What sort of jobs have you done since graduation? Do you have a favorite?
Just the Air Force.
If you hadn’t become a _____, what might you have done?
I probably would’ve followed in my Dad’s (Coach Randy Lee) footsteps and gone into teaching/coaching.
What are one or two things you really miss about high school?
Game days & pep rallies
Who was the person who most influenced you and how?
There a few who influenced me. Lt Col. Larry Karl, CMSgt Raymond Hamilton, & of course my Dad. Lt.Col. Karl & CMSgt Hamilton gave me the preparation for joining the military. My Dad did what every Dad does, by helping me to prepare for the “real world.”
What is one thing you would encourage high school students to do before they graduate?
Do the best they can! It might not seem important at the time, but do your best. Study hard! I wish I’ve would’ve done better rather than skating by.
