As part of Alabama college access initiative, Foley High School will work with its seniors on November 4, 2014 to complete and submit at least one college application.
.
The goal of the program is to get more students applying to Alabama colleges early in their senior year. During this event, students may apply to any of Alabama’s 30 community colleges, 14 independent colleges, and 14 public universities in which they are interested. However, Foley High School is also encouraging students with plans to apply to out-of-state colleges and enlist in the armed forces to participate in this event.
.
Renee Daniels and Wendi Lores, Alabama College Application Week Campaign event Site Coordinators for Foley High School, expect more than 150 seniors to participate with the help of at least 40 volunteers from Foley High School’s faculty, staff, and administration, and college and community resources.
.
This initiative is part of the American College Application Campaign (ACAC), a national initiative that is an effort of the American Council of Education. In 2012 ACAC campaigns took place in almost 1,600 schools in 24 states and the District of Columbia. At least 30 states will hold College Application campaign events in 2014.
