Foley First Responders Recognized at October 3rd Football Game

by Amanda Major 1 Comment

2On October 3rd, Foley High School took a moment to recognize the individuals whose service protects us every day – our first responders.

This included local police officers, fire fighters, and ambulance personnel. In honor of these individuals, there was a special delivery of the game football.

From high above Ivan Jones Stadium, principal Shane Tucker was flown in with the ball, delivered by the crew of Air Methods’ Lifeflight 2 helicopter. Mr. Tucker presented the game ball to the referees.

All of the following photos were graciously provided by Mrs. Amy Wood Gebhart.

Mr. Tucker was joined on the field by representatives of the first responders for the city of Foley.

Representing the Foley Police Department was Police Chief David Wilson, as well as Foley Schools Resource Officers Mark Horton and Brian Shiver.  Although they were not in attendance, recognition was given to Resource Officers Dempsey Hunt and Labron Williams.

Representing the Foley Fire Department was Fire Chief Joey Darby.

Representing Medstar ambulance service was Mr. Glenn Irwin.

A word of thanks was extended to the Elberta and Summerdale police departments and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, all of which protect our feeder schools, and appreciation was also given to the volunteer fire fighters in our area.

Again, we would like to thank Mrs. Amy Wood Gebhart for her fantastic photos.
