College is a wonderful place to get an education and the skills you need to succeed. However, college and universities across the nation can be quite expensive. Tuition has doubled in cost during the past century. This increase has made it difficult for middle and lower class families to send their children off into the world to achieve something greater. You can apply for financial aid, which is the most common choice. There are scholarships you can apply for to help tackle the financial problem most families in America now face in dealing with the skyrocketing cost of college.
According to a New York Times Article , one family in particular has been effected. A mother of five children and her husband reported earlier this year that they have absolutely no savings for college tuition. Critics say that it’s the parent’s fault for not saving money for the children’s college fund. On the contrary the mother and father are making enough to just barely get by. The result is that when you are living paycheck to paycheck, there is no money to stash away for college.

1) Apply for Scholarships
Believe it or not, there are scholarships for many activities, anywhere from sports to clubs.
2) Save a little money to the side even if it’s $1 a day. $10 doesn’t like to much, but if you set aside the $10 each week and put in the money in the bank, you will have $480 a year. In about five years, that $28,800. That covers your tuition for two years in public colleges.
