Logan Maloy was recently crowned Mr. Foley High School last Saturday at the Foley High School Pageant. We asked him a few questions to get to know a little bit more about his experience and his life in general.
If you had any advice for upcoming high school students, what would that advice be?
Stay on top of your work, never procrastinate, make lots of flash cards.
What do you plan to do after high school?
I plan to either attend UAB, where I hope to play soccer and major in criminal justice. If not, I plan to attend Auburn University to major in Aeronautical Engineering and participate in the ROTC Program to become a Naval Officer.
If you could tell someone only one thing about you, what would you tell them?
My leadership skills on and off the field are like no one else’s.
My grandfather. If I could be half the man he was during my lifetime, I know I would be doing something right. The person outside of my family who has shaped me as a person is Coach B. When I am on the field he is the person that I look to. He is someone I know that even after the worst games or days, he is the person I can rely on to build me back up and push me forward.
If I walked up to someone and asked them to tell me about you, what do you think they would say?
He is a good man but an even greater friend. People know that I am reliable and care about people other than myself.
What is the biggest crisis we face in this world?
Losing ourselves. People are drifting away from their values.
If you could live in another time period, which one would you choose and why?
I would live in the 1950s. There was modern medicine, the wars and Great Depression were over, and it seemed like the Golden Age of the United States.
What is your best trait?
My leadership skills.
What is one of your favorite quotes?
“It is not about the ups and downs in life, it is about how you push through the valleys that determines who you are.”
If you could witness any event, past, present, and future, what would you pick?
USA versus Belgium 2014 FIFA World Cup
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
All About The Game
What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Watching my best friend Chris Dillon fight his battle with cancer and win.
What do you miss most about being a kid?
