Kaitlyn Ebert was recently chosen as Ms. FHS, and we asked her a few questions about her experience.
If you had any advice for upcoming high school students, what would that advice be?
Prepare for college early, study for the ACT, and do as well in your classes as possible so you have a good GPA.
What do you plan to do after high school?
I plan to be a division one track and field athlete at the university of my choice which is not yet determined. I want to major in broadcast journalism and aspire to be an ESPN reporter. If that doesn’t work out I want to be a marketing liaison between companies.
If you could tell someone only one thing about you, what would you tell them?
My faith is the most important thing in my life. It is why I am who I am.
What is your biggest fear and why?
Fear of the unknown and fear of failure. To work so hard and fail is depressing and going into the unknown is scary. You can have a good outcome or a bad outcome.
Who is the one person that has helped you get to where you are today?
My mother. She has given me the drive to be successful and encouraged me to be independent and rely only on myself to succeed.
If I walked up to someone and asked them to tell me about you, what do you think they would say?
That girl smiles a lot.
What is the biggest crisis we face in this world?
I think kids are too consumed with social status and the internet. We lack culture and try to obtain it through media rather than reality
If you could live in another time period, which one would you choose and why?
The fifties. It seemed so innocent. You had all of the necessities but life was much simpler.
What is your best trait?
I love talking to people and getting to know them, and I am good at getting people to communicate with me. I believe everyone has a purpose, and sometimes they just need someone to help them realize that they do.
