It’s almost Christmas time!
It brings to my mind that children ask for everything on their laundry list of the latest toys and gadgets on the market. It’s a time to spread joy to everyone in your daily life. A time where people give more than they receive from friends and family. A time where my favorite holiday Starbucks drinks return once again. Christmas is my favorite time of the year because all of my favorite holiday movies like “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and “Elf.”
I asked a few people via Facebook and around campus, and this is what they had to say.
Andy Andrews said, “At Christmas, we give presents to the ones we love. It’s about getting together and celebrating with friends and family. It’s about being thankful that you have a really close family. As we get older, it’s about the grand-kids being able to share the holiday with them.”
Rebecca Smith said, “Food.”
Hannah Hinton said, “I think giving presents to others is a good way to kick off the Christmas season! It just gives people an extra kind of hope. Only you have the power as a person to give, but also to show people who someone cares in this big world in which we live in.”
Lets not forget there are families who are not that fortunate to have a Merry Christmas. There are numerous families, even in America, who are not able to get their kids the cool Transformer toy, XBOX ONE, or the iPhone 6. Try to give more of yourself this holiday by volunteering at a local shelter or buying a hot meal for someone who is on the street and wish them a Happy Holiday!
