This is a tutorial on how to draw a chibi (miniature) Miku. Miku is is a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media.
Make a Sketch
Make a rough sketch of what you plan to draw in a sketchbook or on a piece of paper. If you plan on coloring it than be sure to color in the picture so you know what colors you will need and use right away.
Color the Skin
Start coloring the skin. I used a peach color for the skin and then went over it with a reddish orange for the cheeks and shadows on the body.
Color the Hair
For the first color layer I used an apple green, but you can use any light green you want. Be sure to leave a white area near the top of the head to show where light is coming from. Then go over it with a darker green, such as grass green or forest green. When you’re done, outline the hair with that same dark green until the pencil lines are no longer visible.
Color the Outfit
Then you’ll want to color her sleeves and boots a dark grayish black, and then color the skirt a lighter grey. For the hair ribbons, color through the middle with a dark red pencil and lightly color around it with a black colored pencil.
For the headphone, put in two red squares, a small green circle and color the rest lightly with a black pencil. Color the rest of her umbrella with a black pencil.
Color the Eyes
Now color the eyes, for the first layer of the eyes you will want to use a light green colored pencil the go over the top of it with a dark green and make a big oval shape in the middle with the same pencil.
Now you’re done!
