Foley High School has many athletes that will be attending the 2015 Special Olympics on May 1st.
The Special Olympics was a summer day camp that Sargent and Eunice Shriver started in their backyard of their Maryland home. In July 1968, the world witnessed the first International Special Olympics Games at Soldier Field in Chicago. In December of that year, the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation incorporated Special Olympics.
Since then, Special Olympics has grown to become the largest program of its kind.
The following students at Foley High School are participating in the Olympics:
A pep rally was held on Monday, April 27th in the Foley High School gym.
Mrs. Berkleigh Cirilli was the hostess of the pep rally.
The Fireworks cheerleaders led the crowd in a cheer.
Josh Amos led them with the torch.
