Foley High School students recently participated in Relay For Life.
Freshman counselor Wendy Johnson has been a long time participant with Relay, and we asked her about Foley’s participation.
“Relay For Life is an amazing way for the community to come together and rally against cancer. Cancer affects all of us and it is always nice to know you aren’t in that fight alone. FHS raised close to $3000.00 this year by conducting bake sales, holding the Womanless Beauty Pageant, club/class donations and private donations. I would love for all activities including athletics, band, ROTC, and all clubs to actively participate in next year’s Relay For Life! What a great way for FHS to support the community, just as the community supports our efforts all year long.”
Many students from several different clubs on campus participated in Relay For Life.

Mrs. Regena Dossett talked about one of the highlights of the day, the Relay Womanless Beauty Pageant.
“As the leadership for Relay came around and asked if anyone from Foley High had a volunteer for the Womanless Pageant, Colten Lord stepped up (after some urging from us) as Cinnamon the Bearded Lady. He was not prepared at all. He used the kit they provided, along with some makeup we threw together from our purses, some Miley Cyrus ponytails, and a trio of butt and boob balloons. His dress was a chic Dollar Tree table cloth and some curly ribbon for a belt. But he owned it, and that child has the longest, curliest eyelashes I’ve ever seen on anyone with Y chromosomes. We were all envious. He worked it, sashaying around the track and collecting money in his belt from every tent, and truly earned his title as Relay Diva 2015.”
Foley High School is proud of all our participating Relay for Life students!
