Foley High School students, the end of school is almost here! So you all know what that means. It’s time to crack those books open and get your head in the educational game. But many of us may be wondering, “Where do I even begin?” Well, here are five tips for all of you crammers and procrastinators to get your grades exactly where you want them to be.
1. Don’t Coast!
Many of us tend to put ourselves on autopilot. And what I mean by this is that we get to the place we want to be and our grades are looking good. Then we decide we don’t have to put in so much work anymore. WRONG! Stay consistent. Set goals for yourself. The more you do this, the harder you will work. And the harder you work, the more you will meet that end-of-the-year goal.
2. Keep First Things First!
Many of us today are in all different kinds of sports and clubs. And while these are important to us, we still must know what comes first. SCHOOL WORK! Focus on what matters, and the rest will come easier. If you complete your assignments on time, you won’t have to worry about them later. That means more time to become active in sports, clubs, or any other activities you are engaged in.
3. Strategize Your Work
If you feel as though you have too much on your plate, take a step back. Make a daily plan where you are able to complete all your tasks without feeling overwhelmed. The more you strategize your work, the better your stress level will be. Stress plays a major role in teens lives, so the less stress, the better!
4. Get Organized
We all have those teachers who like to teach all the way up until the bells rings. Then we find ourselves stuffing all our papers and pencils into our bags as fast as we can. Then at the end of the week we look into our bags and wonder how in the world did all of this mess accumulate. The best way to prevent this is to get organized. Make a section in your notebook for each class you have. This will also help you locate your assignments faster and neater.
5. Keep Calm, You’ve Got This
High school can be a very stressful time, with all the school work, clubs, sports, etc. The most useful tip to use in all that you do is to have faith in yourself.
If you put your mind to it you can achieve anything. So just take pride in all that you do. Sure, you want to do any and everything you can to get your GPA exactly where you want it, but it’s best to know that with time, dedication, and hard work, you can achieve greatness.
