The Twilight saga was a huge success. Everyone was either “Team Jacob” or “Team Edward.” Ultimately, everyone thought Breaking Dawn was the last of the hypnotic romantic love series, but it wasn’t.
Stephenie Meyers has switched the gender roles in this new epic book Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined. The main character’s genders are reversed. The new story is told from the eyes of Beau who is like the “Twilight” star Bella Swan.
Meyers says it was Bella who inspired her to switch things up. The only characters who remained the same are Dr. Cullen and his wife.
Meyers wanted the 10th anniversary to be fun and interesting. It bothered her that everyone saw Bella as a damsel in distress and nothing more. This made her switch things up and see it through the eyes of a boy.
The story still works out because it’s a love story, just through different identities, claims author Stephenie Meyers.
