How can you make your very own cascarones?
- First to make your cascarones, you have to gently crack open the top of an egg.
- Then peel away a small piece of shell.
- Next let the egg drip out into a bowl.
- Rinse the egg thoroughly and let it dry.
- Finally use an egg dye kit and allow it to dry again.
Fill the egg with confetti and close the hole by gluing a scrap of colorful tissue paper over the opening and you are ready bring good luck.
Cascarones also have a religious meaning. Since they are made from eggs, they symbolize rebirth and Jesus’ resurrection. Cascarones also represent the empty tomb because when you break the shell to fill it up with confetti you take out the egg yolk an egg white
