Jell-O is a cold snack that can be enjoyed during the summer or winter. It is a soft food that can be eaten after a surgery, while you are sick, and it is also one of the first foods a baby can eat. Jell-O is served on all kinds of buffets and in restaurants as a desert. No matter how old you are, everyone loves Jell-O. In as little as three steps, you can have your own fridge full of Jell-O!
The only three ingredients needed to make Jell-O are 1/2 cup sugar, one cup of water to boil, and your packet of Jell-O. You need a bowl to mix your ingredients in, a spoon to stir, and a couple of glasses or a mold to put your Jell-O into. The first step in making your Jell-O is to boil your one cup of water on your stove top. This could take anywhere from one minute to one minute and thirty seconds. Once your water is boiled, pour it into your bowl with 1/2 cup sugar as well as your packet of Jell-O. According to Now That’s Nifty, there are 63 different kinds of Jell-O, so be sure to pick your favorite. Maybe even mix it up and make a flavor you’ve never tried.
The second step is to stir all the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon until the contents are dissolved. Since the water is still hot from being boiled, it will not take long to dissolve. You should use a wooden spoon because the boiling water could melt the plastic spoon. A metal spoon would also be a bad choice because it can heat up and burn your hand. The Reluctant Gourmet says a wooden spoon would be your best option while cooking anything; it is a great utensil to use. Now that the contents are mixed together, you can go onto the final step.
The last step is to pour your Jell-O into your glass or mold and let it jell in the fridge. They sell many different molds to put your Jell-O into such as Legos, hearts, snowflakes, or Mickey Mouse, or even just a cup if you’d rather not a design mold. If you wish to put fruit into your Jell-O, or maybe even gummies, put them into the mold after you pour your Jell-O in. After your Jell-O is in your cup or mold, let it sit in the fridge until it is completely jelled. As Answers.com says, this process can take up to two hours, depending on what mold you used, how much Jell-O you made, or your fridge temperature.
As you can see, Jell-O does not take that long to make and can be molded into many shapes. Three easy steps were to boil one cup of water and put it into a bowl of 1/2 cup sugar with your Jell-O pack, then stir until contents are dissolved, and pour into a glass or mold and let it jell in your fridge. Jell-O can be fun for little kids to make and eat, especially if they are molded into a cool shape.
