Emily Caldwell is a junior at Foley High School, and I’ve recently become closer with her, so I decided to ask her a couple questions about her interests.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
“Mexico because the food is different, and it tastes fantastic. I also like the Tulum Beach because the water is gorgeous and clear. I didn’t like the people, though, because they harass you to buy their items.”
What sound do you love the most?
“The rain because it’s really calming and it makes me sleepy. I also love the sound of thunder that comes with the rain on a few occasions, and I absolutely love the sound of rain hitting the concrete and metal rooftops. ”
What is one of your favorite quotes and why?
“‘After a while of getting burned, you learn not to play with fire.’ That is my favorite quote because it’s not literal. It’s saying that after a certain amount of times you screw up, you’ll eventually learn not to do it anymore. It’s like karma, I guess.”
If you knew the world was ending soon, what would you do?
“Even though it collapsed, I would go to the Love Lock Bridge in Paris with my boyfriend. I would also try to go to Jamaica with my family, which is what we planned to do this summer. I guess I would also try my best to go on a road trip with Memphis, Hannah, and Lexie.”
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
“Professional skydiving because I would like to feel the adrenaline. My mom has been skydiving three times, and I feel like it would be really fun. I want to learn how to do flips and stuff in the air.”
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
“I would be Elena from Vampire Diaries. Even though I watched that show two years ago, I love her character. She’s really mysterious and so gorgeous. Plus, who wouldn’t want to date both Salvator brothers?”
Do you ever get mistaken for a celebrity?
“Andrea Russett, even though we have different eye colors, hair color, and weight. People think we look alike because of our facial structure and personality. I’ve had many people say that I look just like her, but I feel like it’s a compliment.”
What do you want to be when you grow up?
“After high school, I want to get my basics over with at Faulkner Community College. After that, I’m hoping to go to Auburn University to major in veterinary medicine. If my career as a veterinarian doesn’t work out, I’ll have journalism as my minor. So I’ll just be a writer.”
What do you miss most about being a kid?
“I miss having no responsibilities. Coloring was my only homework. I could run around the house with no clothes on and not be judged for it. I miss my mom making me food and buying me everything. Now I have to work for money, and I have to make my own food. I’m crying right now just talking about it.”
What is your favorite type of pet?
“My favorite pet is a cat. Mainly, munchkin cats and kittens. I have a munchkin cat named Ivy and a kitten named Onyx. I love them because they smell good and they are really soft. I love their meows and their little jelly bean toes.”
