Jordan Thomas is a Senior at Foley High School who was selected by the senior class as the 2017-2018 Homecoming Queen.
I asked her a few questions on the experience of being on court and also being selected as the queen.
Q: What was your reaction on being selected as the Homecoming Queen 2017-2018?
A: I was shocked; I wasn’t expecting it at all. I was prepared to just smile and cheer on the winner, not myself. I was beyond grateful for the experience of just being on the court.
Q: How is the experience of being on Homecoming Court?
A: Being on Homecoming Court is an awesome experience. You form a tight-knit bond with eleven other girls, almost like a mini sorority.
Q: After being selected, how have things changed for you?
A: Everything is exactly the same! People crack jokes and say “your Highness.” But for the most part, everything is back to normal.
Q: What’s the best part of Homecoming to you?
A: Visiting all of the middle and elementary schools was awesome. Seeing all of my old teachers made me feel old, but it brought tremendous joy into my heart seeing them and all of the smiles the children had on their faces.
