Mardi Gras is a time to have fun and eat moon pies! But with all the chaos of so many people having fun at the parades, it’s easy to get lost or hurt, so here are five tips to staying safe and enjoy all the parades this year!
1. Stay Together
It’s important to stay together and know each other’s location at all times in case of and emergency.
2. Arrive Early
Come to the parade at least 30 minutes or an hour early to get a good spot. Also, try to locate a parking area where it would be easy to leave and not get stuck in a crowd when the parades are completed.
3. Dress Appropriately for the Weather
Wear clothes that can protect you from the weather the day of the parade.
4. Stay Behind the Barricades
The barricades are there for a reason, which is your safety. Keep children behind them so no injures can occur.
5. Use the buddy system
Pair both adults and children together to keep everyone safe.
