Matthew Reiss is a senior in Foley High School, and he is 18 years old. He is part of the ROTC program and loves that program so much. He is a gamer and will always be a gamer. He likes to RPG and is a helpful friend. He tries to help people with their problems whenever he can; while he tries to help, sometimes it doesn’t always work. He is a really nice guy and a joker at times, but other than that, he’s really a great person.
Who would you like to thank and why?
I would like to thank my family and my friends. I will also like to thank everyone who helped and believed in me. I am grateful for everything I had to do or got to do.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity?
My favorite outdoor activity is playing football, because it’s such a fun sport. I really enjoy playing with friends, and we always have a good time playing football.
What’s your favorite indoor activity?
My favorite activity inside is playing video games, because I’m a huge nerd. I’m a huge video game nerd, and I love to play them inside. I also love to play them because that’s what I grew up with.
What is your favorite time of the day/week/or month and why?
My favorite day is Friday, because that’s the start of the weekend. It’s also a time where I can relax at home and just do what I want. It’s also the time where I just think about what I am going to do during the following week.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
The first thing I would do if I won the lottery is give a lot of it to charity. I would then choose to give it to cancer research, because I feel bad for people who have cancer. And I’d give some of it to cancer treatment centers as well.
What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
I would get loud with my parents. I would always get loud with them, and that would always get me into trouble. So that’s why I’ve tried to stop being so loud.
What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss having fun going to the fair with my family. I miss playing with friends outside. The most important thing I actually really do miss about being a kid is not having all of the responsibilities I do now.
What are your extra-curricular activities?
One of my extra-curricular activity is AFJROTC. I love ROTC because it’s a really fun program, one that will help you get a job. You’ll have a great time there in general, and you will meet so many nice people. Plus Colonel and Sergeant are so nice, because you can tell them any problem you have, and they will help you with it.
Where do you work and what have you learned there?
I work at Burger King here in Foley, Alabama. I have learned there is that work is actually hard sometimes. I also learned that you have to do multiple things just to finish a job.
The best advice I would give a 10-year-old me would be?
My advice is to always watch what you say around other people, and also to remember it’s your life, so don’t let people control it. Be sure to do what you want and people will respect you for that.
