What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
What I did growing up that got me in trouble was telling lies to my parents, saying I was going out with some of my friends. I promised they were only girls, but there were also boys there. My parents would be so mad at me!
What do you miss most about being a kid?
What I miss about being a kid was being outside most of the time, and having more free time for myself where I just watched TV and didn’t worry about anything. Now I stress too much about school and don’t have time for myself anymore, and it’s sad because when I was a kid, I didn’t have to worry much about anything.
What story does your family always tell that has stuck with you?
My mom always tells me that she doesn’t want me to end up like her. Whenever she was younger, she wanted to be a psychologist, and she quit all of that just to take care of me. She had me at 17, so she has always told me to achieve what I want to achieve, because she doesn’t want me to go through the same situation.
What is your favorite time of the month and why?
My favorite month is December, because during this time of month was one of the last times we got to see my grandma. Also, because we usually travel to Jacksonville, FL in December to spend time with my family. We usually have a big party with my family and invite lots of friends over with us as well.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
If I could learn to do anything, it would be how to actually be able to pass my exams without stressing too much. This would be great for me, because I would like to lower my stress levels in general. I usually stay stress out all the time for no reason.
Name some people who had a big influence on the person you have become.
My parents have had a huge influence on me, because without them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. They have shown and taught me so many things that I never thought had existed. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I’ve achieved through the years.
Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
Yes, whenever I had to actually participate in one of my friends Quinceanera, we had to dance in front of a lot of people. Although we had our bad moments during the rehearsals, we made it to the big day. We created something for her to remember.
The best advice I would give a 10-year-old me would be?
The best advice I would give to 10-year-old me would be to never give up. Always try to achieve what you want to achieve. Although it might seem like it would take a long time, you will realize that after you accomplish your goals, you will be so proud of what you have become. Never give up in life even if you are struggling.
What was an experience that made you a stronger person?
The experience that made me stronger was whenever my parents got separated, because I had to cope with having to go back and forth from one to another. This made me stronger, because it’s not easy to see your parents apart after so many years. I realized that although I’m not the only one with separated parents, I had to struggle my way through it all.
