Select students made a new friend on their first days of senior classes. Introducing Senior Spoony!
Toy Story 4 was a smash hit this summer at theaters all across the country, continuing from where college-bound Andy has given his beloved childhood toys to a younger girl named Bonnie. In the new movie, Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, along with all their other toy friends, are introduced to Forky, a spork that Bonnie has turned into a toy and a “new friend” on her first day of pre-school, and then all the toys embark on a road trip adventure.
Students in Mrs. Major’s Senior English and Senior Project classes embraced their inner Toy Story 4 by “making a new friend” on their first days back at Foley High School.
Today’s teens feel more stress and anxiety than ever before, and Mrs Major has encouraged her students to put down their phones this year and head out for adventures, taking their new Spoony friend with them for relaxation, stress reduction, and whimsical companionship.
Students will be writing about their outings with Spoony, as well as live human friends and family, as they explore what friendships means and learn editing and publishing skills along the way. Stress reduction can only be an added benefit of making a new friend.
Stay tuned for further Senior adventures with Spoony…
