The AP Biology students in Mrs. Brittany Eames’ class decided to create the “ideal cell.”
An ideal cell has to have a greater surface area to volume ratio, meaning that the surface area should be greater than the volume of the cell for it to be considered “ideal.”
Students used agar, which is a gelatinous substance, to create their cells.
The goal of the lab was to have a cell that weighed at least one gram and had the greatest diffusion rate.
