This young man right here is Cameron Freeman, and he is new to Foley High School.
He came here from Foley Middle School, where he played both football and baseball.
I call him my son.
We only met at the beginning of the year, but he is now one of my best friends.
When we first met, he told me that he had a sister, but I was not putting the clues together. His sister, Haleigh Freemen, was a friend of mine that used to be in Foley’s Colorguard.
Cameron, “A Young Cowboy” he calls himself, is very funny and supportive. I try and be supportive as much as he is, but I don’t think I can.
Recently he joined the wrestling team and had his first match about a week ago.
Cameron and I have a cool little handshake.
Cameron made this handshake with his friend River in 5th grade, and when we met, he really wanted me to know it. So he taught me. It took me a while to learn the handshake, but I finally got it.
Every morning I go up to Cameron and hug him and say, “HEY BESTIE” or “MY SON! I MISSED YOU!!” and then take a picture or a video of him.
I have constantly taken pictures of him throughout the months I’ve known him. Sometimes he is camera shy, but he gets over it because he knows I like taking pictures.
With his short, soft hair and his pretty, blue eyes, and his headphones always hanging out of his jacket hood, this is Cameron Freeman.
He is always checking up on me with his great attitude and always making sure I am ok.
He is truly one of the best people ever.
