What is your favorite time of the day/week/or month and why?
My favorite time of the day is at night time, and the reason why is because I can hang out with my friends, sleep, eat, and watch TV. My favorite week is my birthday week, because I get to do fun things and go out and have a good time. My favorite month is December, because it’s me and Jesus’ birthday month. I get to see my family members come together close.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
If I won the lottery, the first thing I would do is pay off my college, because education is everything to me. Then I would buy a house, a car, some clothes and shoes, and if there’s anything left, I would see if my family needs anything.
Where do you work and what have you learned there?
I work at rue21, and I’ve learned that kindness and respect takes you a long way. Like my mom always told me, “You have to earn respect to give respect.” I take those words with me everyday that goes by, because everyone isn’t respectful.
What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss not paying for my hairstyles, nails, clothes and shoes. Yes, I was spoiled, but the more I’ve grown up, I’ve become very independent. Being a child was fun and games, but now being a young adult is very serious at this point. I miss everything about being a kid, but we have to grow up one day.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I want to go to college to become a physical therapist, but I also want to earn a degree in business, because I want to own my own business and be my own boss.
Name some people who had a big influence on the person you have become.
My family changed me; if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be here. My parents didn’t finish school, and it’s my goal to break the cycle. I love my family so much, because they push me to be the person I’ve become.
What do you want to become in the future?
When I was young, I wanted to become a lot of things. I wanted to become a cheerleader, a police officer, and a doctor. When I started ninth grade, my aunt mentioned physical therapy, and ever since then, I always wanted to become a physical therapist. I’ve always had my mind on college, but I just didn’t know what I want to go for.
What made you join the Foley Step Team?
When I was in the ninth grade, I joined color guard, but then I left to go live with my mom. I didn’t like it down there, so I came back over the summer. Years after trying to get back on the color guard, I didn’t make it. I knew color guard wasn’t my thing anymore. I finally heard about the step team, and I wanted to try something new.
What did you learn throughout your high school years?
I learned that students go through a lot. People meet new people and some people fight. Throughout school, everyone changes. Once you get in high school, people separate from each other, and they meet new people. High school is very challenging.
If you can go back in time to change a mistake, what would it be?
I used to be so bad in ninth grade. I would stay in trouble, and I put my teachers through a lot. Every grade that I passed, I would gain more maturity, but I would still act pretty bad. If I could go back and change my mistakes, I would most definitely change how bad I was in the past three years.
