It would be tough to find someone more impressed with the way that Foley played against MGM last Friday than me. When a team wins 44-7, not much needs to be said about the performance of the winning team. But for playing for the first time at home this year, an enormous statement was made to the thousands that filled Ivan Jones Stadium that night. The 2014-15 Lions aren’t going to be an easy out. Last Thursday night, the Gulf Shores Dolphins hosted Foley High School in the 2014 football season opener. The game was originally scheduled for Friday but was moved up due to conflicts in Gulf Shores at the Wharf.
Because of AHSAA’s reshaped classification system, the Dolphins are in Class 6A, Region 1, while Foley is playing in Class 7A, Region 1. This was one of just two non-region games on each team’s schedule this season.
