To the people I used to call my friends,
I’d like to start off by saying I miss you, and yet at the same time I don’t.
I miss the good times we shared together. I miss all of the inside jokes, the laughter, and knowing you guys had my back. I can honestly say that those years were some of the best years of my life, but time moves forward and things change. You guys found people you preferred and so did I. Some of us slowly drifted apart, while other friendships ended so abruptly that I still have whiplash from it.
Sometimes, I still think about all of you. If I’m being real, I think about you guys a lot. I like recollecting our good times. I like imagining how my life would be if you guys were still my friends, but those friendships ended for specific reasons. Some of those reasons I’m still not able to comprehend.
Even though some of you guys hurt me, I am still extremely grateful for ever having you in my life in the first place. You guys are part of the reason I am who I am today. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have ever met most of my current friends, and I don’t know how I’d survive life today without them.
Thank you for sacrificing a part of your life to spend time with me, a part of your life that you’ll never get back. Thanks for giving me a part of your life that I will always remember.
I understand that we are not friends anymore, and I also understand that we’ve decided to take completely different paths, but I only hope the best for all of you.
You guys will always have a part of my heart.
